Saginaw, Michigan - His name is Xavier Sanders, but the industry knows him as “Spud”. He comes from Michigan with a true hip-hop feel to his music. Spud brings true life feel to all his music. It motivates and inspires people who listen to it. Spud has a goal – and it’s not like other artists haven’t used a goal like this in their careers. Spud wants to be the first to make it from Saginaw. It’s a good goal – one that he awakens to every morning. It’s a guiding force in his life. Other guiding forces in his life is his mother, TI and Lil wayne. In Saginaw, Spud has been reviewed in the local papers. He’s had commercial promotions and he’s had plenty of gigs in his city and other surrounding cities. He recently opened up for Motowns Dramatics LJ Reynolds this past summer. It was a wonderful experience being around someone who has so much experience in the music industry. Spud is in the process of working on his second album. He just finished his EP on this album called, “Now or Never”. He has two mixtapes, Amateur 1 and 2 and has just finished his third mixtape called, “Fitted Cap Edition”. “I’ve been doing the music for two years now. Those two years has been really successful for me, but now I feel like the time for me to take it to the next level and I’m going to work hard and stay focused to get there. It’s funny how music came about. I have been playing basketball all my life. Actually, I got a basketball scholarship to play in Kansas. I’m now in college pursuing a career in sports studies. I was always the shy person, so for me to only be rapping for two years and accomplishing this much, I feel pretty good. Basketball didn’t work out as planned, so now this is what my passion is now and that’s music.” Spud’s music is pure hip-hop. It has great beats, true lyrics and is great music to move your body to.
